Petronex is a privately held company, headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa and supplies a range of commodities and raw materials to a diversified customer base. Our counterparts are both producers and industrial consumers. We are a consistent and innovative partner to businesses in segments of the market which we serve and support through their development cycle.

Customers in industries such as mining and minerals processing, fuel distribution, retail and transport, rely upon our established operations as a source of input products. These commodities are supplied to Petronex from numerous first class companies.

Petronex is a commodity trading company that was established in 1984 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Initially, the company focused on Crude Oil and Oil Products, trading into the Southern African region. Our clients were principally the major oil companies, refineries and government procurement companies.

In 2003, Petronex identified opportunities to expand its product range to include industrial minerals and raw materials. Since its inception, Petronex has been a reputable supplier to the industry and today, trades throughout the Southern and Central African region.

Dry bulk products are stored in first class warehousing facilities which are equipped to deal specifically with weather sensitive materials. Highly specialized petro-chemicals are stored in our bulk liquid storage facilities which are located within close proximity to the Refineries and Port as well as inland to service our customers in various locations.

Petronex have agreements in place with reputable hauliers in the various industries we are active in and are able to meet all of our clients specific transport requirements.

Petronex actively invests in assets and infrastructure to facilitate the supply of various commodities that we trade.
